• Sponsor of The Southern Waste Information eXchange, Inc. (SWIX), since the 1980’s. SWIX is a non-profit clearinghouse whose primary objective is the recycling and reuse of solid and hazardous waste which might otherwise be destined for disposal.
• Pursuing reuse options through A•C•T’s network of customers and SWIX for excess products such as bulk caustics.
• Recycling of petroleum contaminated soil by high temperature thermal treatment into a clean fill material rather than taking up valuable landfill space.
• Recycling of scrap steel materials and concrete debris into usable products.
• Directing burnable waste to waste-to-energy facilities for power generation.
• Encouraging water conservation and reuse, including assisting with permitting of waste treated water from facilities to utility companies for use.
